ENJOY the tastes of the continent at a new café and deli founded by an Italian with a passion for food and wine.

La Bottega Caffé and Deli, based at Barleylands Craft Village in Billericay, was opened by Nicole Beggi from Milan, Northern Italy.

She started her trade holding wine tasting evenings at people's homes and then last summer she moved to a small unit at Barleylands and opened a delicatessen.

On Thursday, October 17, she held a grand opening of her new larger premises with a restaurant also in Barleylands.

Mrs Beggi, 30, who lives in Billericay, said: "It's going really well – it is something a bit different for the area.

"We have exclusive products which are shipped from Italy."

Her café serves freshly made pizzas, homemade lasagne and meatballs as well as sandwiches and children-friendly snacks served up by Italian chefs Marco Bonacina and Giacomo Bilanceri.
