Civic Theatre, Chelmsford, Wednesday, May 30, 7.45pm
THE ever popular Opera della Luna return to Chemsford's Civic Thatere on Wednesday, May 30 with their most popular show ever.
The Parson's Pirates is the production that first launched the company on the UK touring circuit more than 15 years ago. Since then the show has been performed almost every year and is still as fresh, popular and hilarious as ever.
The audience is invited to join the Reverend Arthur Bender of St Michael's-under-Ware as he auditions his cast for the fastest, fizziest, and funniest production of The Pirates of Penzance you will ever see. A cast of just six perform Gilbert & Sullivan's classic comic opera – complete and unabridged (with cuts!). You will be dazzled by the singing, choreography and sheer panache of it all.
The cast includes English National Opera star and international baritone, Richard Suart as the Vicar and Major-General; Opera della Luna regulars Ian Belsey, Louise Crane and Martin George; young coloratura soprano Helen Massey; and from London's West End and ENO's Candide, Jeremy Finch.
Tickets are £18.50/£16.50 and concessions £16.50/£14.50. Bookings at www.chelmsford.gov.uk/theatres or call the box office on 01245 606505.
