Billericay Town Football Club, Saturday, May 26, 1pm-1am

GET your Parka on and your Vespa running for the Brentwood Scooter Club's Mods Maydayer this Saturday at Billericay Town Football Club.

Organised as part of The Blue Beat Room series of gigs held at the club which have featured mod, ska and Northern Soul bands, this event is the club's first all-dayer.

It will feature six live bands, including: Fast Eddie, a cult mod band from the 1980s; The Weller Collective, from Brentwood; The Town, a young, up-and-coming band from Wolverhampton; Essex group Bif Bam Pow; Lee Bonnington from Mannequins, performing an acoustic soul set; and The Most from Billericay.

There'll also be four DJs playing mod revival, Northern Soul, beat and ska tunes, with tickets £15 on the door or £12 in advance from niftygig@ hotmail.co.uk

Andy Brown from Brentwood Scooter Club is organising a mass scooter rideout to the club from The Plough in Hutton, meeting at 11.30am and aiming to arrive at Billericay Town between 12.30-1pm.

£12 for 12 hours of music including 6 bands & 4 DJ's is fantastic value. It will be great to see a car park full of Scooters!
