Lost teddy bear reunited with boy thanks to Brentwood mum's global campaign

A worldwide social media campaign led by a Brentwood mum has helped bring this stranded teddy bear back to its owner.

Nicola Palmer discovered Jellycat lying lost on the beach in West Mersea Island last last Saturday.

Quick thinking Nicola drew up a ‘I’ve lost my humans’ sign which read: “We were playing on the beach at Mersea Island Essex, Saturday 29th March & I got left behind.

“Please help me find my way home.”

Posting a picture of the toy with the sign online thousands joined the campaign to get Jellycat home with people sharing the image on Twitter and Facebook.

The campaign reached as far afield as Canada and Australia.

Eventually the image reached Simon Cook from West Mersea who after recognised the bear as his son’s Sam.

Both Sam and Jellycat both agree never to separate again.
