LIVE music returns to Evoke nightclub in Chelmsford this week with two very different acts taking to the stage.

One of the names associated with the orginal wave of punk bands, Sham 69, take to the stage on Thursday night, riding the wave of a recent revival which saw them tour the UK and Europe last year.

Famous for songs like Borstal Breakout, Hey Little Rich Boy, Hurry Up Harry and Angels With Dirty Faces, the present line-up of Sham 69 features founding member and guitarist Neil Harris along with singer Tim V (who replaced original vocalist Jimmy Pursey), drummer Ian Whitewood, bassist Al Campbell and lead guitarist Tony Feedback, formerly of Angelic Upstarts.

Support on the night comes from Southend acoustic punk band Deferred Success who'll kick things off at 7.45pm with Sham 69 conjuring up memories of the punk era from 9pm.

On Friday, one of Britain's top dance acts Sub Focus, aka Nick Douwma, will be playing a special DJ set at Evoke. The influential producer's blend of dubstep, drum and bass, house and electro went down a storm at the V Festival last year. Expect more of the same at Evoke while Intense Records will be hosting the Ice Bar.
